Vigo Park bowling green now closed for the winter

After Saturday's working party to tidy up the surrounds of the green, secure the benches under the shelters against the winter storms, and clean and put away the chairs and rink markers, the green is now closed for the winter. Sincere thanks to all those who came along to help out, make teas and coffees and supply biscuits and doughnuts.

Club members can bowl during the winter months at Longmeadow Indoor Bowling Centre, Whitchurch - and do note that Longmeadow is holding an open day this coming Saturday, 4 October, from 1000-1300. Andover will also take on Longmeadow in a friendly the following Sunday, 12 October, at 2pm. We'll be entering sides into the indoors cup competitions - where we will be defending two trophies - and will report our progress on these pages.

The green will open again, following the winter maintenance programme, for the 2026 summer season some time next April - exact date TBC depending on the depth of the winter and the early spring weather. In the meantime, don't forget the Club's Presentation Evening, at the Wolversdene Club on Saturday 11 October; and the AGM in the Clubhouse on Monday 3 November at 7pm.
