Basingstoke Women
This team is led by Linda Sturt. There is a single league, with a format of two rinks of three-wood triples, which sees each team playing each other, either at home or away, on the basis that the 2026 season will see the reverse fixture take place. The league started on 27 May and ended on 29 July, with a grace period for rearranged fixtures until 12 August. Full rules are in the .pdf attached at the bottom of this page.
Andover had no fixture this week, having concluded the season with an exciting and hard-fought win at home to Old Basing. Old Basing had one fixture remaining and could have risen above Andover in the table with a large win but, although they did indeed win the fixture, they did not get enough points to do so. Andover consequently finished the season in fourth place, with 26 points from four wins out of eight games played, leavng them just three points behind Kingsclere in third.
The team's results this season are as follows:
3 Jun: Howard Park Swallows 57 v 19 Andover (6-0)
10 Jun: Andover 48 v 23 Marnell (6-0)
17 Jun: Hook 26 v 26 Andover (3-3)
1 Jul: Andover 24 v 47 Basingstoke Town (2-4)
8 Jul: Andover 42 v 17 Howard Park Doves (6-0)
15 Jul: Oakley 20 v 37 Andover (2-4)
22 Jul: Andover 39 v 44 Kingsclere (1-5)

The full fixture list is in the attachment below.
Despite a loss to Oakley in their final fixture, only Oakley's second win of the season, which prevented them from running right through the season by winning every game, Basingstoke Town are this season's champions, retaining their 2024 title. Congratulations to them.
The league's presentation evening will be held on Tuesday 9 September and is open to all women who have played in the league this year - further details to be sent out in due course.
