The following circular on car parking came out from Malcolm Christie, Club Secretary of Basingstoke Town Bowls Club, which we thought worth bringing to the attention of members participating in fixtures at the Club. Please read and do take note.

'Car parking close to the green at Basingstoke Town can be tricky during busy times. Some bowlers use the front and rear car parking at Carnival Hall –however, the Hall management are tightening up their parking arrangements as they have many more regular user groups and are suffering from illicit parking.

'The requirements below are actually little different from what should already be happening,

'Consequently, if bowlers wish to use the Carnival Hall car park they must obtain a temporary one day parking pass from ourselves and then go back to display it prominently on the car dashboard. Our members can furnish bowlers with a dated paper pass from a folder in our Changing Room entrance. These arrangements will start from this Thursday evening, 5 June.

'Also we have been asked not to use the Carnival Hall car park on: any Tuesday afternoon; the first Friday evening of each month – 6 June, 4 July, 1 August, 5 September.

'Car parking in the evenings is available nearby on Jubilee Road, Castle Road. Wallis Road behind the Club and in the Cricket Club.'
