Playing bowls is for everyone – regardless of age, sex and ability. It doesn’t take long to learn, and really can be played by anyone, but if you want to play well then like anything else it requires practice and concentration. People are often surprised at the skill needed to play this quintessentially British game well, but it is worth it. It's a great game which can be very sociable and what better way to spend a sunny summer afternoon?

If you've not played before but are interested in finding out more about the game, contact us and have a go.If you are an experienced bowler and are looking for a competitive Club, you could do no better than Andover Bowling Club. We are now one of the most successful Clubs in our area; we also benefit from our location, being able to take part in three leagues, Basingstoke & District, Whitchurch & District and Salisbury and District.

Over the last few years our Club has had an excellent entry of new members,  most of whom have never played bowls before; it's been great to see quite a few of them taking part in club competitions with some getting into the finals.

Because we are very keen to encourage new bowlers to the sport and of course, to our Club, we do plenty to support them and believe the following initiatives, together with the friendly atmosphere, have played a part in attracting so many to join us

A totally new bowler has a fantastic 50% reduction on the annual subscription for the first year. We have our own club coaches who are always pleased to help and  we run special practice sessions for our new bowlers which also incorporates practical help and advice on  the game and the Club. We have produced two booklets full of helpful information to assist new bowlers.

On Tuesday nights during the "open season" we have a Club Night; the bowling is good fun. There is usually a prize for the winner, and it’s a lovely way to learn about the game and to meet other Club Members.

During the winter we have a club social evenings once a month which is very well attended.

If you are interested in becoming a member either social or playing we'd love to hear from you. Please complete the membership form below and return.
