The 2026 Bradley Memorial Trophy took place on a sunny, warm Sunday afternoon on 2 August.

Ten women entered this one-day tournament so, with two groups of five contestants, everyone got four games of six ends, with the top player of each group going straight into the final. In addition, four of our men volunteered to mark, as did a couple of the contestants in between their own games.

The spider was won by Elainne Piper: well done!

The final took place between Nickie Furniss and Cindy Mclaughlin, both of whom won all their games within their groups. The final produced some very close ends, which the final score did not reflect, but Nickie came out on top with a match score of 8-3.

Well done to all those that participated and a special thank you to our markers who did a grand job in helping everything run smoothly.

With thanks to Cynthia Hamilton, Competition Secretary, for the report; and to Cindy McLaughlin (c) for the photos.
