Following a request from Royal Wootton Bassett BC, their match against Reading BC in the last 32 of the National Top Club, which requires a neutral venue, will be played here at Andover Bowling Club. That match will take place at 6pm this coming Sunday, 27 July - an exciting Wilts-Berks match-up!

This is the second such request we've had recenly for our green to act as a neutral venue, and adds to our burgeoning reputation not only among the teams that we play regularly in our own local leagues, but also more widely, of having a green that offers an admirable surface on which quality bowls can be played and which offers a true and fair test of players' abilities. And, in this case, in the context of a national competition. Enquiries from other clubs, informal at this stage, are also being received.

Congratulations - and sincere thanks from all at the Club - go to our greenkeeping team, led by Evan Lewens, whose hard work in a voluntary capacity keeps the green in pristine match fitness day after day, right throughout the summer.
